TLDR

The founding chapter of Regen Tribe: setting up the incubator house in Tulum, building the core team, and laying the groundwork for a regenerative community movement.

Welcome, Regenerators!

As 2021 comes to a close, we're excited to share how the last few months have shaped the beginning of the Regen Tribe project.

It's been a season of growth, connection, and laying the foundation for regenerative community building. Here's a recap of what's been happening in the last months!

**October 2021: Regen Tribe Takes Off**

September marked the official launch of the Regen Tribe project, and we set up our base in an incubator house in Tulum. Oscar, Michael, Mau, Sonia, and Jana moved from Ekumal, a regenerative community in Akumal, to focus full-time on building an ecosystem for regenerative community growth.

We kicked things off by researching and connecting with various community developments in the Tulum area to better understand their needs. At the same time, we began logging global regenerative projects into a spreadsheet, building a database that will serve future collaboration and development.

As part of our initial work, we recognized the need for marketing support among these initiatives and formed our Lifestyle Marketing Agency to help community projects broadcast their mission and attract wider audiences. Additionally, we started a calendar of events for the Tulum community, helping to organize efforts and connect facilitators in the area. We attended many meet-ups and social events, getting to know local changemakers and understanding what the community needs most.

**November 2021: Welcoming New Team Members**

In November, we were thrilled to welcome Julia, co-founder of The New Activist, along with Sol and Facundo, talented content creators and video editors who joined us to capture and document the amazing work happening here. Their creative energy has been a huge asset to the team as we continue to expand our reach and share our journey with a wider audience.

During this month we connected with amazing regenerative projects from the area

  • Huerto Tumban Kaa - local community compost system and garden that processes organic waste from Tulum neighborhoods, led by 2 young humans - Pako & Emiliano!
  • Water Now - sustainable water system provider that supports indigenous communities all around Central and South America
  • Regen Tulum - collective of changmakers focused on initiating and supporting sustainable projects in Tulum
  • And many more! Tulum is truly a hub for people that want to see the world better.

**December 2021: Expanding Our Digital Presence**

As the year wrapped up, we continued focusing on the digital side of the Regen Tribe project. We refined our offerings and grew our database of regenerative neighborhoods and service providers, setting the stage for more impactful collaborations in the future.

This month, we also visited several land projects, including Kuyabeh, a stunning 375-hectare community development just 30 minutes outside of Tulum. We had the pleasure of participating in their open event, where current and potential landowners came together to connect with vision holders and experience the beauty of the space. It was an inspiring day that reinforced the power of community in regenerative development.

    Family Christmas

To celebrate the last months we took a trip to beautiful Guanajuato - small colonial city in Mexico.

We explored, reflected and shared goals for upcoming year - it will be transformative! Watch!

We're so grateful for everyone who has been part of it. We can't wait to see what 2022 has in store as we continue building, collaborating, and regenerating communities!

    With love,

    The Regen Tribe Team
