Q1 2023 - New members & Tribes v1 launch

TLDR

Q1 2023 welcomed new team members, launched the first version of the Tribes Platform, and continued building community infrastructure in Tulum and Costa Rica.

Dear Tribe,

Sending you sunshine and hugs! We hope this update finds you well as we dive into the second quarter of the year. As we reflect on our Q1 accomplishments, we are excited to share some highlights with you.

**January**

We welcomed 2 new team members to the Regen Tribe! Nicole Reese joined us back in October as co-founder, and finally came to live with us at our incubator house in Tulum (#startuplife). She brought a colleague in regeneration with her, Nina Bazan-Sakamoto, who is now our head of real estate and DEAI departments.

Michael and Oscar explored the beauty of Costa Rica and visited the intentional-sustainable communities Holos, Awake, and Florestral.

Back in Tulum, Karla and Nicole organized a beach clean-up co-sponsored by Tulum Circula in Sian Kaan ecological reserve.

**February**

February was all about internal organization and marketing material development. We onboarded 250+ regenerative neighborhoods into our database, preparing for the upcoming launch of the Tribes platform – a social networking platform that helps you build and find regenerative neighborhoods.

This has been our main project for some time, and it's finally functional. Keep scrolling to read about the beta launch!

**March**

March to April we were busy with conferences. The kick-off started with Jungle Club early March, where we hosted a co.live experience at Paledora Eco-Campus near Tulum.

End of March, we presented at Tribalize, a Regenerative Community Summit hosted at Paledora.

At the conference, we were proud to launch Tribes beta and start onboarding communities, organizations, and individuals to create their profiles.

There we facilitated discussions about eco-architecture techniques in Mexico, were featured on a panel about Culture Cohesion, and lead a two-hour workshop sharing our Community Culture Canvas tool.

We were joined by Regen Tribe co-founder Julia Becker, who had been weaving in Europe and Brazil, and she brought with her Gaianet co-founder Alexander Keehnen. We also shared about the emerging Mexico and Yucatan biozones, which we are tracking with impact metrics.

From this conference we were invited by an indigenous community leader to attend the National Mexican Ecovillage Gathering – a grassroots movement of local Mexicans that are building intentional sustainable communities all over the country. We found out we'd be in Mexico City anyways to say goodbye to our advisor as he travelled to Australia, and jumped at the chance to go and support the local regenerative neighborhood movement.

At Tribalize we also caught the eye of a long-time community leader who built and sustains the only functioning intentional community in Tulum. He invited us to step in as leadership at the community because, after a few community members moved on, the responsibilities were falling all on him.
So next month we're moving to the jungle to live our best community lives!
Stay tuned for updates on what we're up to and how to get involved!

We are proud of what we've accomplished in Q1 and are excited to continue building community together. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions as we work towards a more regenerative future.

If you'd like to get involved in our nomadic collective, join the weekly collective update calls.

Best,

The Regen Tribe Collective
